This is an image of the Gates of Paradise, displaying scenes from the old testament. As primarily a sculptor and metalworker, his use of perspective was seems more distinct to me as he was able to use some forms of experimentation that painters were not able.
As you can see in the close up Ghiberti does a very good job with perspective and relative distances in his metalwork, which seems to me would be a lot harder than with paintings. This leads me to believe he was truly a great great artist.
