Titled Tragédia em New Orleans, (Tragedy in New Orleans), this is truly modern art. As part of his most famous constructions, Cities, Afonso has continued to depict the cities based on the vibes perceived by himself as an architect and painter. Here he depicts the horrors that befell New Orleans in a vast array of fury and emotion. To me it looks like a great cascade of meteorlike objects have fallen from the sky upon said city, disturbing the natural harmony evident in the background. It's a very beautiful piece.
