Sandro Botticelli- The Adoration of the Magi

This is the Adoration of the Magi a painting by Sandro Botticelli. Although The Birth of Venus and Primavera are my favorite Botticelli paintings, Adoration of the Magi however, interests me more in terms of representing perspective. This is one of his earlier variations of the Magi theme, painted around 1480.

Firstly, the circular frame helps create space in this painting and focuses it more so on the center of this one point perspective painting, which is just below the vanishing point. Botticelli is concerned with space and composition. One interesting thing is that there is a central pyramid that builds up to the vanishing point.
