By Serin S.- Matthew Ritchie's "Parent's and Children", the Beginning and End?

Art is the ever-changing subjective representation of expression. Art can be created from infinite media, but its classification as "art" only depends on the purpose by which it was made and/or the artistic meaning it holds for somebody. Anything has the potential to be enjoyed, whether the joy it creates is chaotic and painful or joyful and heavenly. The viewer must know, or at least think, that the piece he or she looks at was intentional. Otherwise, artistic quality is depreciated. Art is the purely human instinct to want to appreciate and realize our life, surroundings, and existence.

My favorite artist as of yet, Matthew Ritchie, represents his artwork by incorporating creation myths, particle physics, thermodynamics, and games of chance, which is theoretically what everything is made of. His art is extreme in the sense of, it includes so much and is very complex, making you step back and realize that everything doesn't have to be that way.
