Leora - Contemporary Art
This is Tom Wesselmann's "Still Life #30," which is on display in the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. I chose this piece as an example of contemporary art because I like the way the artist incorporated everyday items that people might otherwise not notice or simply consider trash. Like Duchamp's Fountain, this piece forces the viewer to reevaluate everyday items in an unfamiliar context.
